Sun, Wind and Rain

The Sun, Wind and Rain exhibition at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery marks 150 years since the death of British watercolourist David Cox. On display are over 100 watercolours and drawings together with around a dozen oil paintings.

David Cox became famous for his rural and coastal landscapes. He was especially talented at capturing the passing effects of the elements in watercolours such as Sun, Wind and Rain (1845, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery), from which the exhibition takes its title.
